Cindy Crawford, Rande Gerber left in ‘absolute shock’ after son’s tragic death
Cindy Crawford and her family are said to be struggling with the tragic loss of her son, Persley Gerber.
New details emerge about his final hours and years-long battle with addiction. The 27-year-old son of Crawford and businessman Rande Gerber reportedly checked into a sober-living residence in Santa Monica, California, on September 19. However, the following morning, he was found unresponsive in his bedroom, according to law enforcement sources reported by NBC news.
An insider told Radar Online that Cindy and Rande are in absolute shock. “Cindy is in absolute shock. She and Rande are going through h–l right now.”
“Cindy’s kids are everything to her. Losing a child is truly her worst nightmare,” the source added.
It is pertinent to mention that Presley’s struggles had been ongoing for years. In March, he traveled to Mexico for an experimental ibogaine treatment, later sharing an emotional message about confronting his personal challenges.
As the family spent years trying to help him. The source said, “They put him in front of the best psychiatrists they could find, they paid for the finest rehabs money could buy and didn’t question his decision to try experimental treatments.”
“They did everything they could possibly do to get him better,” they noted.
Presley’s younger sister, Kaia Gerber, had also previously opened up about how her brother’s addiction affected their family, revealing that she often tried to avoid asking for help because she did not want to add to her parents’ worries.
Now a source claimed, “They are all shattered and in a state of utter disbelief.”
“They are trying to stay strong and somehow find a way to carry on,” they added.
