Last year I was given the chance to visit the Dhala school for girls, a school founded to help educate the daughters of the house servants, gardeners, and rickshaw drivers of Lahore’s upperclass Modeltown neighborhood.

As we have seen from the tragedy of Malala Yousafzai, Pakistan’s public school system is failing. Unless their families are wealthy enough to afford private school tuition, it’s almost impossible for an underclass Pakistani girl to receive an education.

The school’s funds are running so low that class openings are determined on a monthly basis, depending on the amount they receive. A family member of mine made a donation of less than $500 and the school was able to open up classes again for 10 girls.

I compiled a short video and some more information on a fundraising page, where you can view and donate: http://igg.me/p/279462?a=1777071.
