A national research project speaking to young women about their experiences of stop and search

In August 2022 the Girls and Young Women’s Research project was launched to investigate young women’s experience of the police. This nationwide project harnessed a participatory action research method to underpin its imperative of being “About Us, By Us, For Us”. A team of peer researchers came together to interview 25 women who shared their encounters with police. The findings reveal prejudice, bias and illegality: this short film serves as one piece of evidence that demands a call for change.
