📜 Lahore – A City of History & Legacy
Lahore, the second-largest city of Pakistan, is known as the heart of Punjab and has a history dating back over 1,000 years. It has been ruled by various dynasties, including the Ghaznavids, Delhi Sultanate, Mughals, Sikhs, and the British Empire, each leaving their architectural and cultural impact on the city.
🏛 Historical Significance:
Lahore was a major cultural and political center during the Mughal era (1526–1857), with rulers like Akbar, Jahangir, and Shah Jahan developing grand mosques, gardens, and forts.
The Sikh Empire (1799–1849) under Maharaja Ranjit Singh also contributed to Lahore’s unique heritage, preserving many Mughal-era structures while adding Sikh religious sites.
