Nicolas Cage breaks silence as Ryan Gosling prepares for ‘Ghost Rider’ role
Nicolas Cage is looking forward to seeing Ryan Gosling take on the role of Ghost Rider in Marvel’s upcoming film.
The 62-year-old actor, who previously played Johnny Blaze, a motorcycle stuntman who sold his soul and became a supernatural agent of vengeance, revealed that he has spoken with Ryan about the project and is excited to watch the finished film.
Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter, Nicolas said, “Ryan’s going to do his thing with it and I’m looking forward to seeing it.”
He gushed, “Ryan knows how I feel about him as an actor; we’ve had nice conversations and we stay in touch.”
“I was happy for him and wished him best of luck on his adventures and I look forward to seeing the movie,” Nicolas added.
Ryan’s casting was announced during a surprise appearance at San Diego Comic-Con earlier this year.
The upcoming film, set to be directed by Shawn Levy, is scheduled to hit theatres on July 28, 2028.
Marvel Studios boss Kevin Feige revealed that it was Ryan who came up with the idea for the movie himself.
Feige previously told Empire magazine, “It was Gosling who had the vision.”
“It was Gosling who had the pitch that won over Shawn, that had them come and pitch us this idea, which led to us on stage [at Comic-Con].”
